Join the Volunteer Team at Stanley-Whitman House!

Stanley-Whitman House has a long tradition of support from volunteers and members. There are currently sixty volunteers working in nearly every function of the museum, from greeting visitors at the Welcome Desk to working with the museum’s collection. High school and college students are welcomed as interns. Internships can be arranged to satisfy the requirements of an established school program or can be developed for individual interests. Help bring the magic of early New England history to visitors by volunteering at Stanley-Whitman House!

Become a Docent

Docents give tours of the National Historic Landmark 1720 historic house. Tour visitors come from all across the United States and international locations. Docent training seminars will begin in the new year!

Be a Living History Interpreter

Bring the personal side of history to visitors by acting in one of our historical dramas or living history programs. Scripts, training and costumes provided.

Join the Dooryard Garden Society

The Dooryard Garden Society designs, refines and maintains the historical gardens at the museum, which include a 17th-century raised bed garden, 18th-century dooryard gardens and an entry garden.
